As a teacher, you may be working with students that have characteristics or are

As a teacher, you may be working with students that have characteristics or are in the process of being identified as having exceptionalities that affect reading. Some exceptionalities include dyslexia, learning disabilities, ADHD, ELLs, and gifted and talented. It is important to understand what research says about exceptionalities, how they affect students in literacy instruction, research-based intervention strategies, and classroom supports for students with exceptionalities.
Choose three reading exceptionalities that teachers in the classroom can encounter, include dyslexia as one of your exceptionalities. Using the textbook, topic Resources, and your own research create a 500-750 word Frequently Asked Question (FAQ) sheet to share with fellow teachers on exceptionalities that affect reading. Include the following information in your FAQ sheet for each exceptionality:
Describe the exceptionality, including common characteristics, and explain how the exceptionality affects students during literacy instruction. Discuss how students with exceptionalities are identified through the RTI process.
Identify and briefly explain at least one classroom accommodation or modification that can be provided to students to support Tier 1 literacy instruction.
Identify and briefly explain at least one research-based intervention or remediation instructional strategy that can support students with the exceptionality in Tier 2 or Tier 3 instruction.
Share one way to provide social-emotional support to students by building on their strengths and promoting motivation and confidence.
Identify at least one technology tool that can be used in the classroom to support students with the exceptionality.
Support your FAQ sheet with 2-3 scholarly resources.

Establishing and maintaining a sense of community is an integral part of the classroom environment. These elements are what make students feel comfortable and safe to learn.
Allocate at least 4 hours in the field to support this field experience.
Speak with your mentor teacher and, provided permission, seek opportunities to observe three different classrooms, pre-K-Grade 3. Your mentor teacher must approve any hours spent observing another classroom environment.
In each classroom, observe how the teacher shares the class schedule, posts rules, and promotes a positive classroom community during routines and instruction. Pay particular attention to the use of digital media and tools used to meet the needs of diverse learners.
Use any remaining field experience hours to assist the teacher in providing instruction and support to the class.
In 500-750 words, summarize and reflect on your field experiences. In your summary, compare and contrast the three classrooms, answering the following questions:
    •    How did each teacher share the daily class schedule with the students?
    •    How did each teacher post and share the classroom rules and behavior expectations?
    •    What positive routines and behavior reinforcements were implemented during instruction to establish a positive learning environment?
    •    Did the teachers have different expectations for their students?
    •    What differentiation was identified during instruction?
    •    What adjustments would you have made in the classrooms? What technology resources would you utilize?
    •    How is the design of the each classroom you observed different? Share one design example that aligns with a positive classroom environment.

What actions of the researcher can compromise the integrity of the findings?

Hi,
Answer both questions with a 250 word response and 1 reference for each. Please keep both DQ1 and DQ2 responses separated. Thank you.
***Morse, Barrett, Mayan, Olson, and Spiers (2002)***  article is attached.
Question 1
There are several unique characteristics of qualitative research that make it distinct from quantitative research. Describe the aspects of qualitative research and the elements of design that contribute to the rigor of the work. What actions of the researcher can compromise the integrity of the findings?
Question 2
Validity and reliability are primarily quantitative research concepts. Morse, Barrett, Mayan, Olson, and Spiers (2002) argue that their exclusion from qualitative research design undermines the credibility and rigor of qualitative research conclusions. Were they correct in this assertion? Why or why not?

List at least three pros and cons of your ELL program.

Prior to beginning work on this discussion forum, read Section 5.2 of your textbook.
One of the main reasons for assessing ELLs is to properly place them in a program that will best serve their cultural, linguistic, and academic needs. As an advocate for these students, you need to understand the various programs that are available to serve ELLs.
For this discussion, your instructor will divide the class into five groups and post those assignments in the announcements. Your group will work together to satisfy the required components of this discussion prompt and post them as a single group response. Be sure to clearly list all the members of the group on your response post so everyone in your group gets the proper credit for their hard work.  The groups will address the following:
Group 4: English language development program (ELD)

Based on your assigned group, list at least three pros and cons of your ELL program. Use your text and additional sources to support and justify your response.
