Address each of the following questions. Organize your response in a numerical order as follows:
What is herd immunity? How is this achieved? Why is this a public health priority to reduce the prevention of the spread of infectious diseases?
What is the herd immunity threshold for measles (hint: red line 9:05 in Ted Talk)? Share the recommended vaccination for children and when should it be administered?
You are the college president and you have just learned there is a measles outbreak on campus. Your campus is in Boulder, Colorado and many of your student body graduated from Boulder Unified School District. The very district Dr. Lindsay Levkoff Diamon spoke of on her Ted Talk. Compose an email which will go campus-wide to all students, faculty, and staff to include recommendations, prevention, and next steps.
REAL WORLD: Provide a picture that captures the essence of this story according to your interpretation. It can be a picture of anything of your choosing, but it must be an embedded picture. If it is not obvious what the picture is in reference to, make sure you provide a caption and your parting thoughts and reflection on this subject.

Ethics Scenario A 25-year-old patient was critically injured in a motorcycle acc

Ethics Scenario
A 25-year-old patient was critically injured in a motorcycle accident. Following his admission to the ICU, he was declared dead by neurologic criteria (brain dead). The patient had expressed his desire to be an organ donor on his driving license. However, when the organ procurement team approached the family, the family expressed hesitance to donate their son’s organs despite their son’s expressed wishes. The nurse caring for the patient has a loved one whose life was saved by organ donation, and as an avid supporter of organ donation, the nurse does not understand the family’s position. When the nurse’s shift is over she makes an appointment to discuss the situation with the ICU director who is the healthcare administrator in charge for the day.
Instructions:
After reading the assignment rubric, answer the following questions using the scenario above to complete this competency. You may copy and paste this assignment into a word document, answer the questions, then either paste it into the text box or upload it as a word document.
Questions:
Write a paragraph describing how the four principles of healthcare ethics ( autonomy, beneficence, non-maleficence, justice) impact this scenario.
Using the curiosity model describe how you would foster dialogue with this family surrounding this ethical dilemma.
Describe how the use of organizational resources can be used to address ethical problems.
The nurse, in this case, has strong feelings about organ donation. Discuss self-care for feelings of conflict between one’s personal values and the values of others.
Attached are the resources needed to follow and help to answer scenario questions.
Thank you 🙂
