1c. Previous research: Later in the course you’ll be asked to search for and read empirical articles in order to write your literature review (Fall term paper). You may not be familiar with empirical articles yet, and that’s ok! Part of conducting research is being familiar with other research that is already out there. Take some time to skim the web for recently published empirical research. Try browsing through Psychology News on ScienceDaily, Psychology Today, or entering search terms into Google scholar. Briefly describe ONE past study that you found interesting and explain why.NOTE: you do not have to read the entire original article, just get a sense for what the study was about by reading a summary or story ABOUT it, or the abstract of the article. Explain what you think is interesting or thought-provoking about the past research you found.
2. Pick TWO ideas from Question 1 that most interested you and write a research question for each idea. Note: These research questions do not necessarily have to be your final idea for the fall term paper, BUT it will be beneficial to choose a topic/research question sooner rather than later. Write a research question for your first idea.
Write a research question for your second idea.

Tell us what kind of modification you are making. (1 point)
Explain how you would modify the recipe. (1.5 points)
Provide us with a comparison of the nutrition information from the original recipe versus the modified recipe. (1.5 points)You only have to share the component that you are changing. For instance, if you are trying to decrease the total fat you would provide the total fat from the original recipe and the estimated total fat for the modified one.
Example-https://www.servingdumplings.com/recipes/baked-meatballs-with-orzo-in-roasted-pepper-sauce/Links to an external site.I will be reducing the total amount of saturated fat for this Baked Meatball and Orzo recipe. I would modify first modify the recipe by switching the meat from ground beef to ground turkey. Next, I would use flaxseed instead of egg (flaxseed is a great egg alternative in cooking and baking!). Then, I would opt for nonfat mozzarella and low fat ricotta. The original recipe had approximately 75 grams of saturated fat for the entire dish (18.75 g/serving). With my modifications, the saturated fat would be reduced to 11 grams of saturated fat for the entire dish (2.75 g/serving)!

Provide an argument for which of the two theories offers a better explanation of the emotional reaction.

For this assignment, you will create a 3-5-minute video speech presentation to discuss emotional reactions. In your presentation provide an illustration of a specific emotional reaction of a situation you were in. Then explain the emotional reaction using two different theories of emotions discussed in Chapter 7. Finally, provide an argument for which of the two theories offers a better explanation of the emotional reaction. Your video speech presentation should be a 3-5 minutes in length and cite specific examples that provide detailed analysis incorporating reading and textbook material. If outside sources are used, proper citation of the source should be included.
The goal of this assignment is to adapt your topic to the audience (your classmates), use a clear organizational pattern, and present an extemporaneous speech. You may use note cards or a copy of your outline to present your speech (you do not need to submit an outline for scoring). Please do not attempt to type your speech out word for word. Using a word for word outline can result in reading directly from your paper and will result in a point deduction.
